JOHN REGALA DIES AT 55

John Regala has passed away. He was 55.

The veteran actor died on Saturday, June 3 due to multiple health ailments, according to talk show host and showbiz writer Aster Amoyo. Amoyo was among John’s friends in the showbiz industry who previously helped raise funds for his treatment.

John's niece Nene Lour Billones Bendijo confirmed his death to GMA News Online.

Although saddened by his passing, she said, "Kailangan tanggapin, at naawa na rin po sa kalagayan niya dahil hirap na hirap na din po siya."

John passed away due to cardiac arrest. He is survived by two kids, one with his first wife and is based in the US, and an adopted 30-year-old son.

John, whose real name is John Paul Guido Boucher Scherrer, appeared on “That’s Entertainment" from 1986 to 1988.

He gained fame as an action star and for his kontrabida roles and is best known for “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story,” “Askal,” "Zombading: Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington," and the original “Encantadia.”
