ARJO ATAYDE GIVES INSIDE PEEK INTO WEDDING PREPARATIONS

The road to his ultimate "I do" with his beloved Maine Mendoza is giving Arjo Atayde the feels.

Arjo, Cattleya Killers lead star, has not only found success in the field of showbiz and politics, but also discovered a profound connection with his soon-to-be bride, Maine Mendoza.

Talking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) for the premiere of his new thriller show, Arjo had a chance to reveal some updates as his wedding to Maine draws closer.

When it comes to the wedding preparations, he affirmed, "I'm very much involved. We're very much planning right now."

While Arjo said that final decisions are divided between the two of them, he modestly downplayed his contributions, chuckling, "I don't wanna pretend like I'm doing a lot. We have naman wedding planner. Maine is really on top of everything.

"And of course, I'm here to give suggestions as well and decisions with her so she never forgets about me as well," he continued.

"It's just, we work together. Practically, it's teamwork this time.

"But I won't discredit that she's doing more and I'm very thankful. I always say 'Thank you, thank you, thank you.'

"She's really on top of it. She likes being there. So yan, I'm very thankful."

Like falling for Maine's charm all over again, he lovingly described her personality as a major factor as to why they are enjoying the whole wedding planning: "Being the girl she is, she's very independent as well."

"So we work together for the whole cause, and I'm enjoying every step of it. She's OC, she's hands-on. That's the way she really is. Bonus na lang sa akin," he laughed.

"Because obviously she really is, might be stressed out at some points. Everyone gets stressed naman, and it's wanted stress naman.

"But I guess at the end of the day, to be honest, I'm just really enjoying every moment, savoring all these times with her."

Meeting Maine marks a pivotal moment in Arjo's 11-year showbiz journey, going so far as to say, "I guess right now, the best thing that's happened to me as an actor is meeting my fiancée."

He said with conviction, "That's about it. I think that's the number one before anything.

"And of course, the awards follow. But besides that, it's really more of the relationships also. I learned not to burn bridges, to build more relationships.

"Because like I said, I never had problems with anyone for the past years that I've been in showbiz. You never heard me fighting anyone. So, I never had an interest in that."

According to previous reports, Arjo confirmed that their highly anticipated wedding is set to happen this year.

FUTURE PLANS

STARTING A FAMILY

The Quezon City's 1st district representative expressed that as much as he's dedicated to his role in public service, he emphasizes that building a family of his own takes precedence.

"Because at some certain point in my life I also want to," he paused to collect himself.

"Honestly at my age, I want to be a father. I want a family," he asserted.

"What matters to me more than anything is not anything in this world, except for family.

"That's the way I was trained so no one can take that away from me. And definitely, my family is my priority."

POLITICAL ENDEAVORS

When asked about his prospects in politics, and whether he sees himself staying in it as long as his tenure in showbiz, Arjo humbly admitted, "I can't speak for that, for now, but definitely not all my life.

He explained, "As long as the district wants me, as long as I can serve, as long as, I think I've been working hard for them...

"For all the people we've been trying to give out the most efficient help that we could give every time, every week, every day. No excuses.

"So as much as the district wants me to be there, I'm going to be there which is three terms hopefully. So hopefully, depending on my performance."

To add, he declared, "I'm not working here to prove a point. I'm working here to make a difference on my own where I can make a difference.

"It might be cliché, it might be redundant, but I have no excuse."
